Marigold Seeds Have Sprouted But Do Not Have Buds

Question From: Pompano Beach, Florida, United States
Q: Planted the marigold seeds approx. 4 wks ago. the plants are green about 4" HIGH, deep green; look great but no 'buds'!!....we're in south Florida

Russ, It takes 45 or 50 days for marigolds to flower when planted from seed. Times vary depending on the weather - sun and temperature. Lack of sun and/or too much fertilizer keep plants from flowering. Relax and let Mother Nature take her course. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
