Marigolds In Window Boxes Have Some Leaves That Turned Black

Question From: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States
Q: I have marigolds in window boxes. Some of the leaves are turning black. The plants otherwise seem healthy altough they are just starting for the season - three to four inches high and blooming nicely.

A: Black leaves usually indicate a fungal disease. Take a sample to an independent garden center for an accurate ID and method of control. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
