Mountain Ash Tree Seems To Be Dying From The Top Down

Question From: Davison, Michigan, United States
Q: My mountain ash is dying from the top down. The top 5ft of the tree looks as if it it already completely dead and below that, the tree looks very unhealthy. Not sure what is causing this. Was hoping maybe you could explain what is going on and if it can be saved or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I you need more info please let me know. Again, thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day. -Ryan-

Ryan, I am not a tree doctor. I recommend you have an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. Most trees are under stress from last year's drought. Weakened trees often have more than one issue. Also depends on what kind of mountain ash you have. Some are hardier than others. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
