Question From: NEW YORK
Q: I planted my New Guinea impatiens about a week ago and the leaves have a bleached out look to them. What happened? It’s not spotty, but instead rather large patches.
My guess is you bought them from green house and they were never hardened off. The tender leaves can get wind and sunburned. I leave these plants on a covered porch for a few days and give them just a.few hours in the sun a day. Watering the leaves with chemical fertilizers will also burn the tender leaves. .
