Newly Planted Red Salvia Leaves Are Shiny Metallic Dark Color

Question From: L. Rumler - INDIANA
Q: Hi there. I just bought my first set of red salvia plants. K planted them outside on a warm sunny day. That night it rained and it is still lightly raining. I checked today and the tops of some of my leaves are shiny metallic like black color. Is this possible sun burn? Not finding many answers online. Thanks!

If those plants came out of a green house they have not been hardened off so they may have suffered both sun burn or wind burn, Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
