Ninebark Bushes Have No Flowers And Are Losing Their Leaves

Question From: MICHIGAN
Q: I have some nine bark bushes that are not doing well. They had no flowers and lost their leaves. What should I do?

I don't have a crystal ball, but two things come to mind. Lack of sun and lack of water. Cut them back hard in spring when you see bud swell. If you see no new growth emerge, they are toast. Keep them watered and fertilize them with Espoma Plant Tone and see what happens. If they are in shade, you need to move them. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
