Oak Leaf Hydrangea Lost Its Bark And Leaves Wilted

Question From: L. Molis - Woodbridge Township, New Jersey, United States
Q: My oak leaf hydrangea lost it's bark and leaves wilted. What could be the cause?

My guess is the hot weather is causing the leaves to wilt and the bark of Oakleaf hydrangeas naturally peel, also called exfoliate. Take photos to and independent garden center for an accurate ID. Hydrangeas need moderately moist soil to thrive. so be sure to water yours if Mother Nature provides less than an inch a week. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
