Oak Leaf Hydrangea Not Leafing Out And Some Stems Are Dead

Question From: E. Murray - GEORGIA
Q: I have 3 oak leaf hydrangeas planed together. One is flourishing but the other two leafed out but now are not growing. Some of the bare stems are dead. What would have killed two but not all three?

They may be planted too close together and are not getting enough water. If you used weed killer near the two of the three may have gotten "hit".  Those are my best guesses.   Best Nancy
