One Cleveland Pear Tree Not Growing As Well As Others

Question From: b. wood - VIRGINIA
Q: i planted 10 cleveland pears a few years ago and all are doing good except for one. it hasn't grown as well as the others and is now smaller than the others. do you think it could be the soil? ( the trees are about 20 feet apart ), or did i just get a bad tree. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be both. If you want it to "catch up" I suggest you have a certified arborist do an onsite inspection. As him/her about injections of MYCORRHIZAE around the roots. I would also mulch the area under the canopy with shredded leaves and wood chips. Happy Yardening, Nancy.
