One Hyacinth Bulb Is Growing Very Slowly

Question From: Kent, Washington, United States
Q: This is one of two Hyacinth bulbs I planted inside in mid-January. They are in potting soil in fair sized plastic pots. One of the bulbs has been growing wonderfully and is at about 4 inches high now. However the other bulb has not done really any growing, about 1 inch high. Since February a bit of green peeked out but has now stopped growing. I have no idea what to do with the little guy. Please help me help him. :)

A: Just keep the slow-poke watered and put it in a place were stays cool, but gets light. Fertilizing will not help. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
