Question From: Pleasanton, California, United States
Q: We have a beautiful Paper Birch in the front yard and for the first time in 21 years One of the three trunks did not produce any leaves. I'm assuming this trunk has died as a result of some insect or disease, but is the whole tree going to die or can I remove the dead trunk and save the two healthy trunks?
A: There is no way of telling. If you value the tree get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find one on your area go to www.tcia.org. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
