One Side Of Emerald Green Arborvitae With Shared Split Trunk Is Turning Brown And Dying

Question From: Warminster, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: My emerald green arbovite are turning brown and dying. Its odd because only one trunk (if split) is dying while the other half remains what appears to be green and healthy.

A: The trunk of the dying section probably is spilt and unable to take up enough moisture to thrive. A disease or insects would attack the entire shrub. You will probably have to replace it. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
