Ornamental Cherry Tree Loses Leaves In June-July And Then They Grow Back In Two Weeks

Question From: B. Riley - MASSACHUSETTS
Q: I live on Cape Cod and have an ornamental cherry tree that is about 25 years old. Every year, without exception, it loses its leaves in late June/early July and then they grow back in about two-weeks time. What's could be causing this?

I can't answer that. I suggest you contact your County Horticulture Agent. A certified arborist would also be able to give you a professional's. advice. Go to www.tcia.org. Obviously the tree is under extreme stress and it were my tree and I wanted it to thrive I would get an on-site inspection. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
