Question From: M. Sharp - Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
Q: My tall phlox are not flowering. I planted them 3 years ago, and they did not flower until I moved them (last year)to an area with more sun. This year no flowers again. What's wrong.
A: Marilyn, the two reasons plants usually fail to flower is lack of sun and/or too much fertilizer. They prefer full sun, but should flower if they get four hours of sun a day. When planting I amend the soil with compost and that's it - no further fertilizer. Hope this helps. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
