Question From: Montgomery, Michigan, United States
Q: I have Mungo pines and white pines with what appears to be a white powder or scale on the needles. It has effected some but not all the pines in the area. The infestation varies within the same plant. I have sprayed with an insecticide but with little if any change. Is there an effective solution?
A: I would take a sample of the infected plants to an independent nursery for an accurate Id. If the disease or pest has spread to neighbors I suggest you get an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. You do not have the equipment or products to treat such an outbreak. Good Luck, Nancy
