Question From: Manteo, North Carolina, United States
Q: I have planted pole beans again this year as I have for the last 15 years. My plants are very healthy and have climbed higher than my fencing. For some reason I do not have any beans. I have seen some flowers but no beans. I rotate the crops in my garden every year but this is very puzzling. All other plants in my garden have done very well this year with no problems. I normally have more beans than I can eat, freeze or give away but as of yet none. What could be the problem? Thank you for all of your help.
Excessive fertilizer will keep prevent beans from flowering and excessive heat will prevent flowering and flowers from setting fruit. That's my best guess Mike. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
