Q: Can you advise us on how to identify scat that turned up on our back porch 3 X's this week ? We think it's a deer marking territory. We have photos of the scat, want to discourage usage of our porch as a latrine. Thanks for any advice you can suggest.

Deer scat looks like little dark brown balls. A product called Plant Skyyd - is blood based and does a great job of repelling deer. You can spray it on rags and lay it out on plastic garbage bags. I use it on trees and other plants. It lasts all winter when used on plants. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
