Question From: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States
Q: The pussywillow is losing chunks of bark on the very bottom of the trunk I thought it was attacked by a critter but I can't find any evidence of this
A: The loss of bark is the indication you have critter issues. Probably mice or voles. A liquid animal deterrent called PlantSkydd painted on the bark with deter them. Setting peanut butter baited mouse traps is also successful. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
