Q: I live in San Diego on a canyon. We recently noticed a large reddish colored egg growing on 2 holly bushes. They are larger than a chicken egg.

A: I can't answer that question as I garden in Michigan. I suggest you take the photo to a good garden center that sells there plants for advice. You might also contact a botanical garden near you. There are 15 in CA..Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
