Reducing The Size Of Overgrown Boxwood Bushes

Question From: T. Bailes - NORTH CAROLINA
Q: hi, I have large overgrown boxwood bushes all around my house, I want to cut them back to be about a foot or two instead of six feet by six feet. Will they survive if I cut them back to about one or two feet from six feet? Thank You Tom

After a summer of drought and heat these plants are probably not in the best shape. I would take them down by a third every season and see what happens . Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
