Repotted Bald Cypress Leaves Are Curling And Drooping

Question From: Santa Paula, California, United States
Q: I just transplanted my bald Cypress into a new pot, I cut the root bottom and planted it in cactus soil and sand. I've been watering but the leaves are curling and the leaves are now drooping. The curled leaves are very dry. I spray water but it doesn't seem to help It looks like its about to shrivel up and die. Please help.

My guess is you cut away too much of the root structure and the plant can't take up enough water to sustain itself. Sadly, there is nothing to be done. Best Nancy
