Question From: WASHINGTON
Q: I bought a sunloving Rhododendron in the spring when it still had bloom. I dead headed and new buds are all over it. The leaves are green but the stems are yellow. I believe most of the yellow is new growth. Is it normal or do I have a deficiency and or too much water etc. thanks in advance..Patti
A: I can't answer that one Patti. My guess the new growth is yellow and ages to a darker color. The leaves are the big indicator. They will yellow from over watering, I suggest you take photos to a good independent garden center for an accurate assessment. It would help if you knew the variety. Best Nancy and Happy Gardening.
