River Birch Tree Leaves Are Cupping Turning Brown On Edges And Falling Off Early

Question From: Macomb, Michigan, United States
Q: I have a clump river birch that is about 12 years old. The past three years year I have noticed the leaves cupping, edges turning brown and the leaves falling off early. The leaves also appear to be smaller each year. I have treated with iron, Epsom, holly tone and greenup digging holes around the drip line and putting the chemicals in each hole about 2 ft. apart 4 times last year and have begun with an application already this year. I don't want to loose this beautiful tree. Help!

If you do not want to loose this tree get a professional, an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. You have guessed wrong several times and the tree is going down hill. Time to call the doctor.
Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
