Question From: M. Carey - Solebury, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: I have a rose garden with approx 40 bushes, on some bushes new growth is stunted, yellowish and leaves curled, buds and blooms are also stunted, this seems to be spreading to other bushes. I regularly spray all bushes for pests and diseases,
A: Your roses may a contracted the virus, rose rosette. There is no cure and the recommendation is to dig out the plant and dispose of it in the garbage. It is spread by a very small mite. Check out the pictures on this website for photos of diseased plants. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advice-tips-resources/pests-and-problems/diseases/viruses/rose-rosette.aspx Best Nancy
