Rosemary Turning Brown After Exposure To Cold Weather

Question From: m. newman - TENNESSEE
Q: I recently relocated to TN and my rosemary has been exposed to cold weather and snow. It is now turning brown. It will be warming soon. What do I do to keep my rosemary healthy or generate regrowth?

Mary, I live in Michigan and take my Rosemary inside for the winter. Rosemarys are hardy to zone 8 - you live in zone 6 or 7, so you should not leave the plant outside in winter. If it survives, make sure it is in well drained soil. I would water it with a product call Super Thrive and liquid kelp according to package directions. When you see new growth give it a dose of fish fertilizer at half the recommended strength. I fertilize mine a couple of times in the summer. Too rich of soil and too much fertililzer will kill them. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
