Shasta Daisy Blossoms Disappear Completely Overnight

Question From: S. Bartini - Hopewell Junction, New York, United States
Q: We have planted Shasta daisies, and the complete blossoms disappear overnight, as if they've been snipped off. They're inside a fence, and there are no footprints in the soil around them. What can do this?

A: My first thought is deer, but these flowers are on the list of plants deer pass on. That said, reports tell us there are deer that will eat anything. I suggest you buy one of those night cameras that will take photos of anything moving in the garden. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
