Shasta Daisy Flowers Have Turned Brown And New Shoots Are Very Small

Question From: Savannah, New York, United States
Q: Hello my shasta daisies were beautiful for about a month and now the flowers are all turning brown. I dead headed them but I only see a couple of new shoots and they are very small. The leaves are green and I don't see holes in the leaves.

A: Sounds like heat stress. Many plants shut down when temperatures rise about 85 degrees. Be sure to keep them well watered. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
