Should Dahlias Be Dug Out Or Left In Ground Over Winter

Q: my dahlias got salt ocean water washed over them, so do I dig them out, or should cut the leaves and leave them in the ground.

A: Dahlia bulbs are not frost hardy, so you need to dig them out and store them in a cool but frost free area over the winter in area where they will not freeze. Google how to overwinter dahlia bulbs to see how this is done. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
