Should Leatherleaf Viburnum Be Replaced In Yard

Question From: D. HECKMAN - Willow Street, Pennsylvania, United States
Q: Just bought our home and I think we have a leatherleaf viburnum. The stems and under leaf are fuzzy and make me itch and get a rash. It looks like it needs trimmed back, but I don't want to do it and I'm concerned that it can cause some else to get a rash. Also, my husband and son say that it has a strong odor, but I can't smell anything. I'm debating if I should just have it take out. It's about 10 feet high.

A: Deborah, Sounds like this is not the plant for you. If it were my landscape I'd yank it. Too many great plants grow well in your area. Check out this website for some suggestions. https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/shrubs Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
