Q: Nancy, I am interested in either the Columbia or Bloodgood cultivar of London Plane Tree to plant near the street in my neighborhood. My house faces West, and I want SHADE!! Which of these two cultivars will have the largest leaves?

Because of its size, Mike Dirr, the American guru of trees and shrubs, does not recommend the London Planetree as a street tree. Also the leaves sometimes scorch in the hot sun. I have no information on difference of leaf size between the two varieties. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
