Should Sawdust And Wood Chips Be Damp When Used To Store Vegetables

Question From: W. Sharp - Maple Valley, Washington, United States
Q: When storing beets in sawdust, wood chips, should they also be damp?

No, do not moisten them. In the old days root vegetables were stored in root cellars. They were cool and damp and dark. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
