Should Struggling Fruitless Plum Tree Be Kept Indoors For Winter

Question From: Lake Elsinore, California, United States
Q: I have a fruitless plum tree. i just moved into the house. First I noticed that the tree was half bare of leaves and the remaining leaves have been curling wilting and have become discolored. The tree is almost bare now. Now I notice that the bark is splitting. What can I do?

A: Put it back outside in a sunny areal and keep it watered. Your plum tree is not able to survive indoors because of lack of sun and also, it needs a cold period in order to survive. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
