Should The Curly Stems Of Garlic Be Cut To Increase Bulb Size

Question From: d. teichman - Ferndale, Michigan, United States
Q: Garlic. Those long pointy curly stems that come up midway in their growth, should I cut them off as I have been told they impede the bulbs from fully developing. Thanks

Those curly stems are flowers and should be removed to allow more energy to go to the bulb, increasing its size. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
