Should Weeds Be Removed Before Overseeding

Question From: A. Patrone - WISCONSIN
Q: I need to overseed my lawn but I also have to kill weeds. Which should I do first: overseed or get rid of the weeds?

Get rid of the weeds first. The label on the weed killer will tell you how long to wait to re-seed. Usually it's about three to four weeks. You're probably better off zapping the weeds now and seeding in spring. Best and Happy Yardening, Nancy
