Q: I planted a young flowering almond in Southern Delaware in late spring. Our soil is basically sand. I filled the hole with good potting soil and applied 2-3” of mulch. Now it’s fall. Should I fertilize? When and with what?
A: Newly planted trees should not be fertilized for the first year. So spring is a good time.I would use Espoma Tree Tone according to package directions. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
