Small Tulip Tree Has Sticky Mildew Substance On Curling Leaves And Buds Are Brown

Question From: J. Reynolds - Riverbank, California, United States
Q: Small tulip tree was thriving, now leaves are curling and some have a sticky mildew substance and the budding tulips brown. I've been watering this tree for a year and it was thriving until recently. I inherited this tree one year ago and it was stunted, nearly dead.

Well you were making progress. I garden in Michigan, which is like another world. I suggest you take sample of the leaves to your local independent nursery that sells these plants for a better Id. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
