Snowy Mountain Ash Leaves Are Drying Up Even Though Watered Frequently

Question From: F. Cole - Warroad, Minnesota, United States
Q: My snowy mountain ash that I planted this spring the leaves are drying up. I put water on it every other day. This is the third tree I have tried to get to grow not having much luck.

A: Watering every other day is excessive, especially in the wet growing season this year. The rootball should be kept moist but not sodden. You may also have a drainage problem. You will probably save money by getting an onsite inspection from a certified arborist. To find a professional in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
