Some Dahlia Shoots Are Green But Very Short

Question From: Fallston, Maryland, United States
Q: I planted dahlia tubers May 16th. The tallest so far is about 3 ft tall, but there are several that are green, but only 8" tall.

A: Dahlias hate hot weather and will limp along until the weather cools later in the season. Hopefully yours will limp along and then take off in late summer/early fall and put on a beautiful show. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
