Some Daylilies Are Dying

Q: Some of my day lilies are dying and some aren't (see image). What's going on?

A: Looks like a fungal disease. Take a clump of the plant with dead and dying leaves to an independent garden center for a more accurate diagnosis. There is not a cure for this disease and the plants should be removed. Overcrowding helps to spread the disease, so the plants should be divided every four years. Clean your tools after removing the plants so you don't spread the disease. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
