Something Eating Leaves Of Peppers

Question From: Little Rock, Arkansas, United States
Q: I have a small above ground garden. Tomatoes and peppers. I noticed in my young pepper plants something has already begun to eat the leaves. What should I use to prevent more damage?

A: There is no one size fits all Bill. You must identify the culprit. Could be slugs, they come out at night. Check with a flashlight. Could be rabbits, they chew the leaves off. Could be catapillers or beetles. You should be able to see these. Check the undersides of the leaves. Once you identify the enemy, then you can deal with it.
