Q: My 3 year old blue beard spirea is infested with a red 7mm shelled insect with black wings and small yellow strip down the middle of the wing. The tender newest leaves are wilted, the older leaves are full of small yellow circles, some are holes. I'm a master gardener with MSUE and have never seen anything like this.
A: I believe it is the 4 lined bug. It has a very short life span and does not do great damage. New growth will be clear. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
