Question From: C. Thiele - Greenville, South Carolina, United States
Q: Our sweet gum tree is leaking a clear liquid from the bark near the top and all the way ( bubbles at base) to the base of the tree. I need to know if it is caused by a fungus and if treatments are available, also does the tree need to be cut down?
A: I can't answer that Cathleen. Have a certified arborist do an onsite inspection. To find one in your area go to www.TCIA.org. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy.
