Sweetgum Trees Infested With Red Humped Caterpillars

Question From: B. Tabora - FLORIDA
Q: Hello, My Sweetgum trees have been infested with red humped caterpillars and are in the process of taking all the leaves. What should I do to help my trees recover from the infestation. I live in Orlando, Florida and fall will be starting in a couple of months. Any advice will help, thank you

A: If they were my trees I would get an on-site inspection from a certified arborist. I know nothing about red humped caterpillars as I ilive in Michigan.. To find a professional in your area go to tcia.org and enter your zip code.. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
