Question From: S. Kopp - Auburn, Maine, United States
Q: My teddy bear magnolia was flooded by too much rain not long after it was planted. The leaves have turned brown and brittle but there appears to be new growth on the tips of the branches. Is there anything I can do to save it? It is winter here in Australia but very mild.
A:
Sandi, If your tree shows new growth that means its alive and able to support itself. Best to let nature take her course. I would mulch around the tree with tree inches of organic material, but hold off on fertilizing. Also, if you go through a dry patch do keep it watered. Good Luck and Happy Yardening, Nancy.
