Question From: Greenville, South Carolina, United States
Q: Nancy - yesterday had storm damage to a ten year old poplar that got topped and pealed the bark back a good way. it was roughly 30 ft tall and now 20 with limbs taller than the base. What are your thoughts? On a side note we had 20 inches of rain in about 20 days that is not typical here. The broken pieces were very wet.
A: Sadly poplars are short lived trees. I suggest you consider replacing it with a longer lived tree that will work well in you area. Best Nancy
