Tips Of New Growth On Canaan Fir Trees Are Turning Brown

Question From: Edgar, Nebraska, United States
Q: I have two canaan firs that were planted about 4 months ago after about a month they started getting brown tips on new growths. Is there any way to treat them? they don't seem to be dying they just look kinda bad.

Lack of water or too much water would be my guess. To root balls of newly planted trees must be kept moist at all times. Deep watering a couple times a week is key, especially in the heat and drought. If the soil remains sodden they may be drowning. Check those root balls. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
