Too Much Volk Dormant Oil Sprayed On Shrubs

Question From: D. Hamblin - Garland, Texas, United States
Q: I put too much Volk Dormant Oil spray on my shrubs to kill scales. Can I wash the oil off after it has dried?

You can try Don. I would use regular Dawn at a rate of 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. Let it sit for a bit and then rinse it off. Do not do this in the sun. Early in the morning is best. If they were my shrubs I would then give them a foliar spray of liquid Kelp, such as Neptune's Harvest and SuperThrive according to package directions. That's my rescue remedy when plants are in stress. Do not fertilize them but do keep them watered. Good Luck Nancy and Happy Yardening.
