Q: What causes newly planted London plane trees leaves to curl up and die off after watering? Watered them well after planting but weather was rather hot so watered them again a few days later just about 2 gal of water each. Noticed the withered leaves next day and checked moisture with water meter which read Wet. Did I kill these two trees or just wait and c what happens next.
A: Probably needed more water. Daily watering after just planting - about 5 gallons of water would not be too much in a heat wave. After a week or so I'd go to every other day. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
