Question From: V. KALAMAJKA - MICHIGAN
Q: Hi Nancy, Do you think the OWLTRA OW-1 electronic rat zapper is a good product ?? You had suggested a rat solution a few years back, which I never bought, & we now have this problem again in Dearborn Hts. Also, I am looking @ Mosquito Barrier & Garlic Barrier, as they are HORRIBLE in yard....hate to even go out there!! I need a product safe for pets, as well as for bees, butterflies, etc. Since garlic is not safe for dogs, I am wondering if this would be a problem if they ate grass, etc. Thanks so much....I really enjoy your column....been reading since the Jeff Ball-and-you days!!
My brother-in-law lives in Berkley where rats are endemic. He uses the Rat Zapper with great success. He baits with peanut butter. Jeff also used it. Garlic Barrier is available online and at English Gardens. We used it with great success. It smells when first sprayed, but that dissipates in a day or so. Thanks for the kind words. Best Nancy
