Question From: L. Neufeld - Seattle, Washington, United States
Q: We have a container garden in Seattle, WA. We get a lot of sun in the summer and wind and rain in the winter. I planted, in containers, two Trumpet Creepers; I believe they are Campis x tagliabuana. They really thrived over the summer and grew beautiful flowers. We have an issue with Aphids, but the Trumpets didn't seem to mind (the Aphids preferred the Hybrid Petunias). The leaves are turning reddish and we have lost a lot of foliage. It is fall here, but today is very nice and sunny. Will they loose al of their leaves? I thought they would stay green through the winter> Are they maybe missing a nutrient? Thank You!
A: Trumpet vines are not evergreen so they loose their leaves in fall. Feed the plant with Espoma Plant Tone in spring. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
